About
Hello Im Laura Keer.
I was born in 1991 in London, England.
I enjoy creating paintings that evoke memories of a positive and carefree time in life. I aim to capture that fleeting feeling of excitement and possibility—the sense of escape from the everyday realities and challenges that we all experience.
My recent series of flower paintings was inspired by the arrival of spring, a season whose subtle transformations often go unnoticed, particularly in adulthood. Through these works, I wanted to reimagine and visualise the world as it once felt: fresh, vibrant, and saturated with colour.
All of my works are handmade, using either acrylic or oil paint on canvas.
For me, painting is one of the most direct and human forms of artistic expression. It allows for a rekindling of the creative flow state and a return to the simplicity of working with paint on canvas or paper.
A blank page offers the freedom to explore, experiment, and reinterpret familiar subjects. This process is central to capturing what makes us human—our emotions, perceptions, and personal experiences.
In a time when artificial imagery has become increasingly widespread through the rise of AI-generated content, I believe it is important to create artwork that feels genuinely personal and human. My work seeks to preserve the authenticity of craftsmanship, skill, and individual expression within the creative process.
